Save the Baldies
End of National Forest Service NEPA Information

In an email dated May 14, 2008, personnel from the National Forest Service Canyon Lakes Ranger District (the lead agency in the Middle Bald NEPA process) responded to specific citizen questions with the following:

"Thank you for all your comments and questions. Because our NEPA process allows us to continue taking public comments and questions during this time, I will send your comments and questions to the NEPA contractor so your queries and comments will be included in the public record. All substantive comments on the Larimer County Communication Site Application on Middle Bald Mountain will be considered in the public comment content analysis."

From this point, neither the ranger district nor NEPA contractor responded to citizen questions. Beginning in 2009, the agency, under a new district ranger, began once again providing information related to Middle and South Bald to interested citizens.
